E.V.A. Inside the artist.

E.V.A. : En Velen Anderen, a VR film about expanding identity and the multi layered self with a surrealistic twist.

Eva researches the archetypes within her own being in the VR film titled E.V.A..

She investigates these characters by diving into every one of them separately defining what is most important to them and  presenting their reason to exist. Eva discovers the opposites within herself and makes them communicate with each other, without them knowing they are all part of the same physical human being.

By experimenting in daily life, Eva got to meet and know these characters within herself and by saying Yes to a lot of situations and diving into many philosophical and psychological essays. Eva promotes inclusivity within identity and presents you the possibility of a divers and ambiguous set of persona’s, functioning as one curious multidimensional human being, fully grown to his/her potential.

What you experience in the film.

The film shows Eva Bartels playing the six archetypes she discovered within her self. Assembled in one white room, showing the many facetes within this one person and giving you, the viewer an inside peek in her artistic and contradicting mind. The Guru, the Artist, the Hedonist, the Critic, the Mother and the Child.

The audience find themselves in the center of all these female characters being engaged by them while they are entangled in a somewhat heated but surrealistic discussion about their existential thoughts. At the end the Guru invites the viewer to take part in a final merging interflow. All characters become one and find a collective raison d’etre ( reason to exist ).

The six red dressed women disappear and melt into one angelic woman dressed in white who dances around you in 360° while a voiceover in English proclaims a reason for existence and encourages you to grab life fully and embrace and explore the ambiguity within identity by mirroring through performance.
